Crochet Squishy Spring Bunny

Materials Needed:

• K (6.5 mm) crochet hook
• 350 yards of super bulky/#6 weight yarn in 4 colors (Pastel Yellow, Sky Blue, Light Purple, Cloud)
• Scrap yarn for embroidering eyes and nose
• Yarn/tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Measuring Tape
• Polyfill/Fiberfill for stuffing
• 2 Pipe Cleaners (11-12 inches long)

Sizing:

• Body circumference: 29 inches
• Bottom to top of head: 11 inches tall
• Total height: 16 inches tall
• Each ear: 5 inches tall
• Flowers: 2.5 inches wide

Pattern Notes:

Bunny Body & Head:

The Base:

1. Chain 4, join with a slip stitch to form a ring.
2. Round 1 (purple yarn): Ch 3, then work 11 dc into the ring. Join with a slip stitch.
3. Round 2 (purple yarn): Ch 3, dc in the first stitch, 2 dc in the next stitch. Repeat from * around. Join with a slip stitch.
4. Round 3-4 (purple yarn): Ch 3, 2 dc in each stitch around. Repeat from * around. Join with a slip stitch.
5. Round 5 (purple yarn): Ch 3, bpdc in each stitch around. Join with a slip stitch.

The Striped Body:

1. Rounds 6-21: Alternate colors to create stripes, doing two rounds of each color, ending with gray. Ch 2, hdc in each stitch around. Join with a slip stitch.

Head Shaping:

1. Round 22 (gray yarn): Ch 2, hdc in the next 4 stitches, hdc2tog. Repeat from * around.

Bunny Ears:

1. Make two. Attach yarn to a pipe cleaner.
2. Ch 2, work 48 hdc across the pipe cleaner.
3. Ch 1 and turn. Sc in each stitch across.
4. Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Bend into shape.

Flowers:

• Make 6 in different colors. Ch 5, join to form a ring.
• Work (3 dc, sl st) into the ring. Repeat for desired number of petals.
• Fasten off, leaving a tail for seaming.

Finishing & Assembly:

1. Stuff the bunny body and head, then seam the top closed.
