How to Make Paper Sword (Written Summary)
Are you ready to learn how to make this little sword? Below is the summary for what you need to do:
Step 1: Create the Sword Blade
Take a sheet and fold together the sides to form a flattened cone shape. You will need many layers of folding to make the blade sturdy and straight-positioned. Watch the video tutorial for an understanding of this technique.
Step 2: Form the Handle (Hilt)
Just take one more sheet and start folding it from one side along the width to make a tube. Fill something inside (optional). Glue this handle to the underneath of the blade.
Step 3: Add a Crossguard (Optional)
For the crossguard (the part between the handle and blade that protects the hand), cut out a strip of paper or cardboard and join the sides in such a way that you get a triangle. Do the same for other guards and attach each to either side of the handle just at the meeting point of the handle and the blade.
Step 4: Hanger
It will be attached underneath the handle.
Tips
- It is recommended to watch the visual guide by the tutor to learn the folding precisely.
- Never use thin paper but a hardboard which will although a little difficult to fold but perfect for the sturdy sword.
