Crochet Sunflower Zipper Pouch Pattern

Materials
- Yarn in different colors for the sun flower squares and the background.
- Crochet hook of the right size for the yarn you’re using.
- Zipper.
- Fabric for the lining.
- Scissors.
- Pins.
- Needle and thread for hand sewing.
- Measuring tape.
- Marker or pencil.
Making
Make the Granny Square:
- Chain 2, then slip stitch into the first chain.
- Chain 2, then make 16 double crochets into the circle.
- Slip stitch into the first double crochet, then fasten off.
- Repeat steps 1-3 to make 3 more granny squares.
Round 2:
Attach the yarn in any of the double crochets around the square.
- Chain 2, then make a puff stitch in the same stitch.
- Repeat the puff stitch chain 1 combo until you get back to the beginning.
- Slip stitch into the first puff stitch, then fasten off.
Round 3:

Connect the squares:

- Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you get to the next corner.
- Chain one, remove your loop off of your hook, insert it into the top corner of the other square, pull that loop through, chain one, then do the three triple crochets as normal.
- Continue round four as normal until you get back to the beginning of the round.
- Slip stitch into the top of the first stitch, then fasten off.
- Repeat steps 1-6 with the other two sunflowers.
Add additional round to the squares:
- In the top right corner, pull up a loop of the same color and chain two.
- Work a half double crochet into that corner, then do a row of half double crochets all the way around.
- For the middle seams, do three half double crochets total: one in the first corner, one in the center seam, and one in the following corner.
- Once you get to the end of that round, do two half double crochets to finish that corner, chain one, then slip stitch into the top of the first half double crochet of the round.
- Chain one, then do a row of single crochet all the way across until you get to the corner.
- Fasten off.
- Repeat steps 1-6 for the other side of the pouch.
Add the zipper and lining:
- Cut a piece of fabric that is slightly larger than your pouch.
- Fold the fabric in half, then place your pouch on top to mark where to cut.
- Cut around the pouch, leaving about a half inch seam allowance.
- Cut the folded piece in half.
- Place the fabric pieces inside the pouch, right sides together.
- Single crochet around the edges of the pouch, connecting the two sides together.
- For the corners, grab the chain one stitch on both sides and single crochet into them.
- Continue attaching this way until you get back to the beginning.
- Fasten off, then weave in your ends.
- Open the zipper on one side and maneuver it into place.
- Pin the zipper in place on both sides of the pouch.
- Hand sew the zipper in place.
