Crochet Froggy Coasters

Materials:
- 8 ply milk cotton yarn in main color
- Black yarn for the eyes
- 4.5 mm crochet hook
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
Pattern:
Round 1:
Chain 3.
- Half double crochet (hdc) into the first chain.
- Chain 2.
- Hdc into the same chain.
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you have 10 stitches.
- Slip stitch (sl st) to join the round. You should have 10 stitches.
Round 2:
- Chain 2.
- 2 hdc into each stitch.
- Sl st to join the round. You should have 20 stitches.
For Round 3:
- Chain 2.
- 1 hdc into the first stitch.
- Increase (2 hdc into the next stitch).
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you have 30 stitches.
- Sl st to join the round. You should have 30 stitches.
Round 4:
Do not chain 2.
- 5 double crochets (dc) into the first stitch.
- Sl st.
- 1 single crochet (sc) for the next 2 stitches.
- Sl st.
- 5 dc into the next stitch.
- Sl st.
- Repeat steps 3-8 until you reach the end of the round.
Continue…
- Finish off the coaster by inserting your needle into the front side of the first stitch and pulling through. Then insert your needle into the back loop of the stitch to be fastened off and cut off any excess yarn.
- Weave in the starting tail through the first round of stitches and pull to tighten it to close up the hole.
- Embroider on the eyes and mouth using black yarn.
