Supplies Needed

  • Crochet hook
  • Yarn in desired colors
  • Felt material
  • Alligator clip
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Flower Center

Starting the Circle

  1. Create a magic circle.
  2. Chain 1.
  3. Work 3 double crochets into the magic circle.

Initial Petal Formation

  1. Chain 1, then work another double crochet into the same space.
  2. Repeat steps 2-4 until you have a total of 5 double crochets.
  3. Chain 1, then join the circle with a slip stitch.

Petal Construction

First Petal

  1. Work a front post slip stitch to the chain 3 space.
  2. Chain 3, then work 3 double crochets into the same space.
  3. Work a slip stitch into the same space.

Completing the Petals

Repeat steps 7-9 to create the remaining 4 petals.

  1. Chain 3, then insert the hook from the chain 1 space between the first and last petal and work a slip stitch.

Color Change and Additional Detail

  1. Chain 1, then cut off the yarn.
  2. Take your white color yarn and work a slip knot.
  3. Insert the hook from any chain 1 space and work a slip stitch, then chain 3.
  4. Insert the hook from in between the chain 3 and the first double crochet and work a single crochet.
  5. Insert the hook from the top of the first double crochet and work 3 double crochets into the same space.
  6. Repeat steps 15 and 16 two more times.
  7. Insert the hook from in between the last double crochet and the chain 3 space and work a single crochet.
  8. Insert the hook from the magic circle and work a slip stitch.
  9. Chain 3, then work the next petal.
  10. Repeat steps 14-20 until all petals are complete.
  11. Work a final slip stitch to the magic circle.
  12. Chain 1, then insert the hook from the first chain and work a slip stitch.
  13. Chain 1, then cut off the yarn.

  1. Hide the yarn ends behind the petals.

Adding the Clip

  1. Take a small piece of felt material and cut it into a circle.
  2. Make two slits in the felt circle.
  3. Insert an alligator clip through the slits.
  4. Apply glue on the alligator clip and attach it to the wrong side of the flower.
