Elf Shorts Pattern
Pant Leg 1
- Starting: Using Color H, CH 20 and join the last CH to the first CH with a SL ST, ensuring not to twist the CH.

- Rounds 2 to 4: CH 1 and turn. SC around, then join. (20 STs)
- Finish off.
Pant Leg 2
- Repeat the same steps as for Pant Leg 1 without finishing off, since you’ll proceed to join the pant legs together.
Joining Pant Legs & Completing Shorts
- Round 5: CH 2 and turn. SC in the last ST of Round 4 of Pant Leg 1 and PM in the second CH (now considered as our first ST), SC 19 around Pant Leg 1. SC in each of the 2 CHs, SC in the last ST of Round 4 of Pant Leg 2, and SC 19 around the top of Pant Leg 2. SC in the 1st CH, then join with SL ST in the marked CH. (44 STs)
- Rounds 6 to 14: CH 1 and turn. SC around, then join. (44 STs)
- Round 15: CH 1 and turn. SC 4, CH 34, SL ST in the 7th CH from the hook and each CH across. SC in the next 36 STs of Round 14. CH 34, SL ST in the 7th CH from the hook and each CH across, then SC in the last 4 STs. Join. (44 sts & 2 shoulder straps)
- Finish off and weave in ends.
Finishing Touches
- Sew a button on the front of the elf shorts, across from each of the CH-6 spaces in the shoulder straps from Round 15. This allows the shorts to be closed by slipping the CH-6 space over the button.
- To ensure the buttons are placed accurately, fit the shorts on the doll, drape the straps over the shoulders, and mark where you want to sew the button with a stitch marker or pin before sewing.
